Vacuum Casting is using two-component polyurethanes which are poured in to silicone molds to make high quality rapid prototypes or end use products.
How it works:
Make Master Pattern (CNC or 3D Print) > Immersed Master into Silicon to form a mold> Removed Master and create a empty cavity silicon mold > pour liquid polyurethanes into mold and placed it into vacuum chamber > open mold and obtain identical copy
Feature and advantage:
1. Cost-effective: Lower than 1/10 of traditional injection tooling cost
2. Fast: Depends on the complexity. Lead time can be less than 2 days.
3. Low volume production or prototype: each mold can copy parts up to 25 pcs.
4. Precision: 0.3% (0.3mm within 100mm dimension)
5. Versatility: semi material to most standard thermoforming resin, plastic, rubber, PU.
Application:
Design verification
Pre-Launch production testing
Prototype or Display
Low Volume or limited quality End use product
